Terms of Service

Last updated: April 28, 2026 · Version 1

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or accessing the Versioner platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to do so. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Versioner is a deployment operations and governance platform that allows engineering teams to track, gate, and audit software deployments. The Service operates on metadata you choose to send — Versioner does not access your source code, secrets, or production infrastructure directly.

3. Accounts and Access

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Accounts are non-transferable and may not be shared or assigned to another party. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. Versioner is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
  • Send data that you do not have the right to share
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

5. Payment and Billing

New accounts automatically begin a 30-day free trial with access to all features (subject to usage limits). No payment information is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, if you have not selected a paid plan, your account will automatically downgrade to the Free tier — no charge is applied. If you choose a paid plan, billing begins at that point. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as otherwise stated in your subscription. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your account. California residents may have additional rights under applicable consumer protection laws, including the California Automatic Renewal Law — your subscription will renew automatically until cancelled, and you will receive notice of any material changes to billing before they take effect.

6. Data and Privacy

You retain ownership of all data you send to Versioner. We process your data solely to provide the Service. Versioner does not sell your data to third parties. Versioner processes deployment metadata only — it does not collect or process personal data on behalf of your end users and does not act as a data processor under CCPA or GDPR. If your use of the Service involves personal data subject to those regulations, you are responsible for ensuring appropriate legal basis for sharing that data with us. Our data handling practices are described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

Versioner and its licensors retain all rights to the Service, including all software, trademarks, and content. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use Versioner's trademarks or branding. You grant Versioner a limited license to process your data as necessary to operate the Service.

8. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting Versioner support. Versioner may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or if required by law. Upon termination, you have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted; after that period, recovery is not possible. If Versioner terminates your account without cause, you will receive a pro-rata refund of any prepaid fees for the unused portion of your current annual subscription period.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Versioner does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Versioner's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. Versioner is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will increment the version number and update the date above. If you are an existing user, we will require you to re-accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service. Continued use after acceptance constitutes agreement to the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Sacramento County, California.
